A success! Thank you you to everyone who came. And a special thank you, in no particular order, to Cathy, Brittany, Shayna, Dawn, Pat, Autumn, and Grace for helping make it all happen.
June 23rd - 1 day to go
A few last-minute adjustments to the menu (see below).
June 20th - 4 days to go
The weather forecast is currently calling for some light rain, though it keeps shifting by the hour. If it does rain, we will still have the cabin, the covered outdoor area, and some canopies so the party can go on.
June 7th - 17 days to go
Everything is set. Please note that the (mostly finalized) menu has been updated below. While the "official" start is at 11am with Kristyn slated to arrive around 11:30am, please feel free to arrive as early as 10am, though you may be pulled into helping decorate.
First Things First . . .
This is a surprise party, so please don't share with people like, for example, Kristyn...
The date and location will not change for anything less than catastrophe. Other details, such as the exact time, food, etc may be subject to changes. This page will always have the most up-to-date information available, so please make sure to check back as we get closer to the date.

Why Are We Doing This?
Kristyn has been many things to many people over the years. Wife, mother, daughter, employee, boss, and most of all, friend. I want to show her my appreciation, which I know is shared by many others. And how better than a surprise party with the accompanying surprise cake?
When Is It?
Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 11am until 5pm
The party will start at 11am, but come by after 10am if you want to help decorate!
At 11:30am, Kristyn will be shepherded in.
Snacks will be available all day, but lunch will be served at 12:30pm
Dessert will be at 1:30pm or thereabout
The rest of the day is open to snacks, games, etc
Where Is It?
Oatka Creek Park Cabin

The park has several hiking trails and a lot of outdoor space, great for kids or just to duck out for a few moments of quiet. The cabin has bathrooms, a kitchenette, and electricity. In addition to indoor seating, there is also a small covered outdoor patio with tables. See the Monroe County Parks Page for more details about the park.
Parking
Upon entering the park, there is a parking lot immediately to the left. If you go straight for about a quarter mile, there is another parking lot next to the cabin.
What Else?
Activities
There will be a number of indoor and (weather permitting) outdoor games. This party is kid-friendly. There will be ample space for kids to run around as well as kid-friendly games and activities.
Menu
NOTE: Menu subject to change.
- Beverages: Water bottles, coffee, iced tea, lemonade
- Snacks: Chips and dip/salsa, veggie tray
- Lunch: Pizza, meatballs, pulled chicken BBQ, rolls, cornbread, beans, salad
- Dessert: Cake, ice cream, cookies
Gifts
Gifts are absolutely not expected. However, if you want to get Kristyn something anyway, gift cards to Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks, Target, Kohls, or Amazon are always a good option.
